The reaction chamber is made of crystal-clear, high grade acrylic with a huge overall volume of approximately 295 cubic inches. This allows a large viewing area to see the bubble density and adjust the water height as needed. The molded pieces and collection cup are made of durable ABS plastic, which is much less likely to suffer damage from impact or dropping. Input and exhaust tube assemblies are replaceable should they suffer damage.
The skimmer exhaust is protected by a baffle. Few (if any) bubbles escape the reaction chamber. As a result, no bubble makes it back into the sump or main aquarium.
The actual exhaust assembly is height-adjustable, allowing the hobbyist to tweak the height of water in the reaction chamber and produce the darkest, driest, dirtiest foam possible depending on conditions within the sump; this equates to much greater efficiency and less water being wasted as skimmate.
The Nautilus TE comes with everything you need except for a pump! Just purchase a pump that has a flow rating of 600-900 gph (we recommend the MAG Drive 700 or Rio2100), hook it up and plug it in and you are done!
Vortex Reaction Chamber is much more efficient than air-driven protein skimmers. It creates a powerful whirling, swirling column of air and water that rapidly draws dissolved wastes (protein-laden bubbles) upward through the column and into the high-capacity Collection Chamber, where they burst to form a frothy solution. This solution of unhealthful dissolved organic compounds is contained there, where it is kept separate from clean water until it can be removed. The large capacity cup holds more and needs emptying less often.

Needle-wheel skimmers are the most efficient of all skimmers for removing dissolved proteins.
The Super Skimmer is a high-performance foam fractionator with aspirating venturi. This mixture allows the needle wheel to divide the fine bubbles into a dense froth which is injected into the reaction chamber. The deposited air bubbles and water mix together in a spiraling vortex inside the reaction chamber to increase both contact time and deficiency. As the bubbles rise, their surface areas attract and collect fine proteins and organic compounds before they break down in the water and are then deposited into the collection cup. The efficient removal of highly-concentrated waste products results in a better environment for the aquarium.
Bio-Filter plus Oxy-Surface-Skimmer includes patented floating surface skimmer that removes film, dust and other floating debris from the top of the water. Adjustable skimmer valve controls teh initake of water from two additional levels in the tank (middle and bottom) to prevent "dead spots" and keep water circulating as well as skimming the top. Keeps water sparkling clear and traps debris that would otherwise decay and pollute the tank.

The Prizm is sized and priced to deliver the absolute best results for the serious hobbyist while remaining very affordable. The slim line profile (only 2.4" wide) allows the Prizm to be discretely hung onto the tank behind the aquarium or on the side of the sump. With it's fully submersible motor it can even be placed inside the sump!
It features 18-blade "Turbojet" air injector that generates a constant stream of micro-bubbles in a homogenous air/water mixture to carry more protein-laden foam to the collection chamber. Unique 2-stage reaction chamber has both co-current (upward flow stage) and then a counter-current (downward flow) action. Because the first stage chamber decreases n size, it causes turbulence and long contact time. The combined action of the two compartments creates causes both co and counter current activity, ensuring that the protein-laden foam arrives at the collection cup.
The air trap under the reaction chamber redirects any escaping bubbles for bubble-free water returned to the aquarium. Additionally, the bubble-trap acts as a mechanical filter by trapping small particulate matter not removed by the foam, thus keeping it out of the aquarium.
