When the Electronic SmartDoor is set to Automatic Mode, only your pets wearing the SmartKey can pass through the Electronic SmartDoor. As your pet enters the adjustable range of the Electronic SmartDoor, The SmartKey transmits a signal so that the SmartDoor "detects" the SmartKey and unlocks automatically - much like your car unlocks when you press the "open" button on your transmitter. The range is adjustable up to 3 feet (fast-moving pets need 3 feet, slower pets can have a shorter range to be sure no other animals slip in with them)
After your pet passes through the Electronic SmartDoor, the door will lock automatically.
Radio Frequency key does not require line of sight direction. As long as your pet is in the range you have selected, the door opens. Collar key works even if obstructed by dirt.

The 96" patio pet door door is designed to fit into an UNUSUALLY TALL patio door, regardless of the height of the dog.
In many cases putting a pet door in an entry door is not practical. The Wall Entry Pet Door can be used in a number of different wall materials including all types of siding, stucco, and even brick (additional support suggested for brick).

All underground systems use an easy-to-install boundary wire (best if buried, but will work if laid on toop of the ground as well). They use a plug-in control transmitter which communicates by radio signalto a collar with a small receiver box which your dog wears. When your dog hears the collar beep, he knows he is in dangerof transgressing a boundary. If he continues, he receives an unpleasantbut harmless low level correction. If he stops or turns around, no correction is sustained.
Most dogs take only a few days to understand. Underground Fencing Systems have variable boundary warnings. That means that you can set the system to warn him about getting too close before he gets to the actual boundary. Smaller or faster dogs need more warning time (distance) than slow-moving dogs. In some systems if he ignores the beep and continues toward the boundary, the closer he gets to the boundary wire, the higher the correction level climbs. You determine the boundaries.
Most systems have variable correction settings: low for smaller or more timid dogs and higher for larger or more bull-headed dogs. You deteermine the levels of correction.
Some systems use replaceable batteries. Others use rechargeable batteries. Replaceable battery systems are usually less expensive to purchase but more expensive in the long run.
Most systems come with 500 feet of wire and 50 flags. The flags visually outline the boundary while your dog learns how to understand his collar beeps and warnings. Many systems will cover up to 25 acres (with the addition of more wire). Systems that have the power to cover more acreage are better if you live in an area with deep snow-cover.

Wireless systems have a transmitter that sends a signal to the collarand waits to hear an answering signal. If the dog is outside the boundary,no answering signal returns and the collar begins to administera correction which continues until the dog returns to the area inside theboundary. The biggest drawback to them is that they currently cover only smaller areas of about 180 ft diameter (in a circle). Extra transmitters can be added to enlarge the circle but each transmitter must have a power source and be protected from the elements.
